Looking forward to the 2015 season

We’re ready for another season of challenging regattas. Henley’s sailing team is a regular participant in the MBA Sailing League and in 2014, finished 7th out of 27 business schools. Our aim is to do even better this year!

We’re kicking off the 2015 season with two events and are appealing to all Henley sailors with some experience and lots of enthusiasm to make yourselves known.

The first event is the Global MBA trophy which takes place in Piraeus, Athens (April 16th to 19th) with two days of races in two separate categories. You can find full details of the event at the following link: www.globalmbatrophy.com. If you are interested in joining us at this event, please contact Carl de Verteuil at verteuil@bluewin.ch

The second event is the Cranfield MBA Regatta which takes place on the Solent, UK (July 10th to 12th). We plan to enter an 8 person crew, sailing on Sunfast F40 boats. This is usually the biggest event of the MBA Sailing series with up to 30 boats from business schools worldwide entering. If you are interested in this event, please contact Tim Lawson at info@henleysailing.co.uk

Both events are an excellent opportunity for networking, for enjoying some challenging competition against some of the world’s top business schools and of course, for a bit of partying!

For more information about the Henley Sailing Team and how to join our events, please get in touch. Note that our events are only open to those who have completed or are currently studying an MBA at Henley Business School.

Cranfield MBA Regatta 2014 results

Our team had a great time at the regatta coming in a respectable 8th out of 19 boats. A frustrating last race where our spinnaker became trapped under the yacht meant that the chance to push ourselves up the leaderboard disappeared. Hats off to the LBS crew who came first in every race with a great demonstration of how it should be done.
